Counselling support for baby loss (miscarriage, neonatal death, still birth and medical termination), unintended pregnancy and termination.

Welcome to CedarOak

At CedarOak we offer compassionate care and support to anyone who is facing baby lossunintended pregnancy or termination.

If you are finding it difficult to cope following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neo-natal death or medical termination we can offer support and the opportunity to talk about what you are going through.

If you have an unintended pregnancy, we offer you an opportunity to talk through your options. CedarOak can provide a safe, confidential place for you to explore your options with one of our trained counsellors.

If you are struggling emotionally after a termination, however long ago, and want to talk to someone, we can help you.

CedarOak is a small counselling charity based in Gosport, Hampshire

(with on-line counselling services to a wider geographical area)

Since 1991 CedarOak have supported people facing the trauma of baby loss, an unintended pregnancy, or struggling after a termination. We offer free at the point of delivery professionally trained confidential counselling sessions for women and men, lasting around 45 minutes for as long as the support is needed with regular review sessions. We take referrals from local GP’s, the bereavement midwives’ team, social/pastoral workers, or you may self-refer.

There would usually only be 1 or perhaps 2 unintended pregnancy sessions.

Our Counsellors are all professionally trained and CedarOak is affiliated to the Association of Christian counsellors (ACC)  the counsellors volunteer their time and talents.
Our relationship with our clients is completely non -judgemental, clients are not required to be Christian, or meet any other criteria in this respect.

As a charity our counselling service relies on donations and whilst our service is free, we do encourage our clients to make a donation towards the cost of their counselling.

If you would like further information, to book an appointment, or if you have any queries please get in touch.

Please note that although we can offer advice on available options, we do not refer women directly for terminations.

What our clients say

Feedback from a stillbirth client.

“It’s been amazing! I’ve been helped so much. Having someone to talk to has been very comforting. Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to heal.”

Feedback from a miscarriage client.

“Cedaroak has helped me immensely. It has been difficult many times but it has worked for me.”

Feedback from a male post abortion client

“Cedaroak has been fantastic and I would surmise, maybe even saved my life. I now feel so much better about myself and the situation. This has turned one of the blackest times of my life into a positive motivator. I can’t thank you enough.”

The experience of online counselling sessions – a client’s testimony

“I have been meeting with my counsellor for over a year and although we now have Zoom meetings, which are very different from seeing each other in person, she is just the same supporting person over video as face-to-face. Without having her continued support during these very worrying times it would have been far worse. For anyone needing support, but worried about virtual meetings, please don’t let that stop you making contact with CedarOak. Once you’ve met your counsellor, I know that you’ll be very thankful for the help and support you receive just as I am. Regardless of how you meet them, it’s your space to get the support you need, and it does become normal very quickly.”
